Hardwood Flooring – the most apt type of Flooring for Moist Conditions

Brian and I had been childhood sweethearts. And so after 10 years of courtship, when he proposed to me I couldn’t help but say yes. Post marriage I relocated to Milwaukee from Chicago where I had been working. But both of us were in a fix whether a hardwood or carpet flooring would be a better option. One of our college friends, Andy who had bought an apartment three years ago, advised us to install a floatinghardwood floor. Our room was on the first floor, just above the basement and had a lot of moisture. He said that a floating hardwood floor would act as an obstacle between the subfloor and the hardwood board. Andy also said that this type of flooring, the board responds to changes in temperature and humidity as a unit, expanding towards the wall or contracting away. So chances of the floors developing cracks in dry conditions are minimal.
But a major problem which both of us faced before moving into our apartment was finding the services of a company for installationof floating wood in Milwaukee. For two weeks, it had become a daily routine both for me and Brian to call friends and relatives to ask if they knew any company which offered floor installation services in Milwaukee. After ten days, when it seemed all over Brian came across the website of such a company. What impressed me the most about the services of the company was that it installed the floor within five days. Their employees put in one board into the groove of another, smoothly pushing them down until the pieces were locked in one pace. Both of us chose hard maple because of its fibres have relatively thick walls which prevents the wooden floor from collapsing when it is dry. And now whenever either Brian’s or my own colleagues come over, they simply marvel at the look of our wooden floor. The installation fee wasn’t very high either and so it happened to be beneficial for us in the long run.
